My work is mostly informed by my surroundings. I use experimental techniques that allow opportunities for unplanned marks to occur, together with more traditional methods. I also like to play with sticks and stones and stuff.
When living on the Sunshine Coast I became intrigued by the common seagull, especially their knobbly legs and the variety of stances. Now, living in the Mackay region I am constantly looking at the new scenes of country that unfold as I drive – both the wide grand views and the smaller details that flash by. Mackay beaches are full of lovely sticks too.
